You will have an interview with the membership secretary and be shown the club.
Please bring some formal ID with you such as Driving License, Passport, FAC, SGC , MoD90, etc
You will need to wait for references and a police check to be carried out and then for space in the club as we have a limited membership.
When space is available and all checks completed you will be invited to meet the committee for a 5 minute interview. If the committee are happy with the application you will be invited to join as a probationary member. This is a compulsory 3 month period set by the home office. In this period you are to attend at least 8 times and cover all of the different evenings so you can meet all of the Range Officers. You will be supervised closely during this time, regardless of prior experience.
You will undergo training on all of the club's firearms regardless of whether you have your own or not. Training is free and done by one of the club's instructors but you will need to pay for the ammunition. This training will be done before you are allowed to shoot on your own.
At the end of the probationary period, which may be extended if deemed necessary by the RO's or Instructors, the RO's and Instructors will discuss your membership at the next available committee meeting, if your attendance and safety is of standard you will then be invited to join the club as a full member. Only after you have completed probationary and joined as a member will you be allowed, by the police, to apply for your own Firearms Certificate, should you want one. You are welcome to use the club's firearms. You will also be eligible to enter competitions.
Do not post completed forms to address on the form, we have no letterbox. Email to membsec@ledburyrpc.co.uk or call number above for postal address.
